Draper Above the Valley

The Draper Utah Temple stands as the radiant heart of this painting, its white stone glowing in the final golden light of day. Rising high on Draper’s east bench, the temple appears both majestic and peaceful, a sacred refuge overlooking the distant lights of the valley. Cottonwood Canyon and the rugged Wasatch peaks frame the temple on the left, grounding the scene in the distinctive mountain landscape of Draper.

Sego lilies bloom prominently in the foreground as a meaningful extension of the temple itself. Utah’s state flower was intentionally incorporated into the Draper Temple’s art glass and decorative designs, and its presence in the surrounding landscape creates a connection between the sacred building and the natural beauty of the land.
